What Is EFT and How Can It Help?

Our brains love familiarity – it’s wired into our subconscious to seek it out. It feels safer, and requires much less mental effort to automatically complete a task (think brushing your teeth) than to consciously create new programmes (like reacting to situations differently). 

 

This is why trying to start a new habit, routine, or way of thinking is so difficult – your brain will always choose the path of least resistance (i.e. what it’s always known) even if that path is destructive to us. 

 

EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) is a simple but powerful tool that helps you rewire those default settings. It combines elements of acupressure and modern psychology to help shift your unconscious patterns at the root. By gently tapping on specific points on your face, chest, and hands – whilst focusing on the belief, habit, or emotion you want to change – it diminishes the issue and allows us to see solutions, or have perspective shifts previously hidden under the issue. 

 

Instead of constantly pushing against your own programming, EFT helps you work with your brain – so creating change feels more natural and sustainable.
